Up here in NorCal we have a several good shops..... GST, SpeedElement and FFTEC just ot name a few... would be good places to consider spending some money at.....or tuning, or installing new/used parts....

GL!!

Pretty much what everyone else said, get some bolt ons installed 1st then get a tune and the car will be in the low 12s with good driving.

Wow thats nice! I need to get a tune forsure i have an exhaust but nothing special. I was thinking of going downpipe? What do you think ? and Intake will probably be the first purchased item, and im not sure whether to go K&N filter or Perrin or what

+1 on buying used parts on forums, most of the performance parts I have were bought here.

There's a lot of options on parts, I'd start with an intake and lower intercooler pipe, and full exhaust. I like ETS stuff but you'll get more for your money buying good, used parts.

Best way to start is buying my Buschur Down Pipe for $180 shipped. Fits your car fine, no rust, excellent condition... Gains spool up time, and makes your car sound great for only $180. These sell for $300 new, that's without shipping. Pm me with any questions

I'm just trying to get you the best ideas for your $1K. Running 10s will cost a bit of money. Tuning is a top priority as well. Do some searching in the "for sale" threads, good downpipes can be had for a $100.
