Competition Clutch, Twin plate comments anyone?

looking at purchasing one of these by the end of the year,

anyone using the Comp clutch twin plates?

is it a very street drivable clutch??

whats your opinion off it??

what is life expectancy off this clutch (roughly)?

i know theres 3 versions of it,
other than the power holding difference, whats the actual difference between them?

ive currently got a Customised 4400lb Exedy cover, with a ACT 6-puk ceramic sprung disc, on a stock flywheel which has just started to slip, lasted 22000km, of mostly road driving (some very aggresive), with launching added in there for the odd drag.

with was absolutely no good at reversing uphill.
and did not like being slipped.

both things i need the replacement to handle to get the car out of my driveway,

it is mostly a weekend car now but i do need to retain some street friendliness,
as the wife may have to drive it the odd time.

its actually not for a evo, but a legnum vr4. we can bolt the evo 7-9 stuff in with the help of a spacer,

I'm on my second one. The old version was very harsh and hard to drive but the new one is much easier. I like it

I'm in the same boat as maradits...I had the old version too and it was rather harsh engagement. Like an on/off switch. But the new revised version is much better and much more street friendly. I've had nothing but twins in my car so I'm used to them but I have street driven all of them and always liked it. I'd recommend the Comp twin over all the rest for price and functionaility. I got about 25,000 miles out of my first Comp Twin. That was with street driving, racing, and dragstrip.

The new ClutchMasters FX600 for the Evo looks like a pretty nice setup. I had one in my 2G and I absolutely loved it. The Evo version comes with 1 sprung disc and 1 solid hub disc. Definitely another option to consider when looking at Twins that hold big power.

how are the Comp clutch twins, when you slip them? or on hill starts?

the clutch master looks nice, but is well out off my budget.

id be a stretch for me just to afford the comp clutch,

actually going to the states in a couple of months for a holiday,
so was planning on picking what ever i buy up while im there,

will be in LA and Vagas so of anyone could recommend a place i can pick one up while im there that would be great too.

On a hill it is a bit of a pain still. It'll chatter of you slip it too much.
