BC 272 cam install info.

So i recently picked up a set of brian crower 272 cams for my 05 evo8

I've tried asking around but i seem to keep getting different stories about what i need to make these cams work.

Some people tell me i can put them cams in with stock valve train and cam gears some,
people tell me i need to upgrade the valve train,
some people say i need to upgrade the cam gears.

I eventually plan to slowly start ordering parts to start building the head but just looking at these cams sitting everyday has me itching to put them in..

So EXACTLY what do i need to install these cams on a stock evo8 motor ?
and still have it run normally and not risk messing up anything?

People recommend getting adjustable cam gears when running Brian Crower cams, as their castings were terrible, and often had to be degreed to actually get the cam at it's proper centerline.

Your stock valvetrain will be plenty sufficient for BC 272 cams, specifically, as the are not a very aggressive grind.

Make sure you get your car tuned post install.

You don't need gears or springs/retainers to run them. They aren't that aggressive and will be fine on the oem valvetrain.

You need to get them to kelford so they can regrind them into cams that will actually make power. Don't expect much if any gains from them. Honestly not worth the effort to even install.
