Oem 4g64 crank
Um because its not a forged crank that motor was N/A its not ment for it. If you choose to just like i told my friend that threw a rod last month.... Its from a 2gen spyder or 3gen eclipse 2.4l
Just buy something you wont have to worry about pretty much every.
he had a ToxicFab kit, 6262, full bolts on & fuel to back it.

Just looking at people like ER making 800 on an oem crank, and Map over 1000hp on one got me thinking....
The 4G64 crank is forged from the factory. I am not scared to use it and the 7bolt crank is supposed to be stronger than the 6 bolt 100mm crank. Throwing a rod has absolutely nothing to do with the crank strength.

Did you just "hear from your buddy" that the crank isn't forged or maybe you read that from some other idiot on this site? Then just regurgitated it and just knew it was right because you read it on the intrawebs?
As has already been mentioned, the crank is forged and they are strong as can be. I've made over 800awhp on a Mustang dyno with one in my car. But I guess I better go check for a "thrown rod" because my crank isn't strong enough
No. It's been proven that these cranks can hold it's own. Buschur used to use an OEM on his 2.3 and I think he still builds motors with the OEM 100mm. Actually, a lot of shops still use the OEM 100mm crank because it's cheap and works well. Only reason to go aftermarket is if you want to go lighter.
It is what I will be useing in my build. Other cranks such as the billet or any other aftermarket cranks are for people who don't have a crank or want something a little lighter. I plan on making over 700 on my build and I would not even think about going to a different cranks other then the oem.
Obviously I've been gone from here WAY to long because alot of opinions have changed in the past few years. I was informed that there are 2 different 4g64 cranks , 2gen spyder, & 3gen which I've previously owned did a headswap car took a dump.
