boost gauge reference question.

Ok I'm new to the whole stock turbo platform so this may be a dumb question but I'd rather look stupid than have to buy another new engine. My question is I'm swapping over to a mbc so I no longer need my ebc system. I understand how to run the lines for the mbc n how to plug the ebc but I'm running a mechanical boost gauge to monitor boost. Since I am no longer using the ebc I was thinking about using the vaccuum line that goes into the boost monitoring solenoid in the cab of the car, unplugging it from that and plugging it into the gauge. But before i did that I wanted to make sure it wouldnt affect how the car ran or the fuel referencing for during boost. Just makes more sense to use an existing line then to create another weak point by tee-ing into another line.

I am not sure how your EBC was setup etc but can give you some advice. If you already have previously installed a line from the engine compartment into the cabin, use that same line for your new boost gauge. However, just use the hose itself. disconnect whatever EBC module etc is now connected to it.

The hose itself is OK to use. Connect the end inside the cabin, directly to the back of your new boost gauge. The other end of the hose T it into the FPR line over on the passenger side of the engine bay.

If the hose is cut too short as is, then lengthen one end or the other. They sell inline adapters so that you can add more hose to one end or the other.

If you are going manual boost control and mechanical boost gauge just get rid of the old paraphenalia. Reference the bottom port on the MBC from the compressor discharge nipple. The side port on the MBC to the WGA.

Separately plumb the port on the back side of the boost gauge to a "T" inserted into the vacuum hose that comes off the FPR.

Don't complicate things. Instead seek to simplify.

That answers my question, idk y n I now think its Def aftermarket, but wut I'm talking about is a little solenoid which as far as I can tell is for monitoring the boost level because all it is is one vacuum line that is tee'd into for and an electrical connector that has a signal wire to the ecm. But again thank you u answered my q n then sum
