Cams

Which cams do you prefer? HKS 272 or JUN 272 cams. I currently have the HKS cams

FYI..Those 2 cams even though have the same "272" number are no where near alike and not even on the same playing field..

I would look more into the gsc s2 than the hks or jun, just hear better things and they're 274 duration over the 272's

Given the ramp rates the jun's have greater duration at 1mm than the GSC S2's. Advertised duration is next to meaningless when comparing cams.

HKS 272 are a very mild cam. Other name brand 264's perform better. JUN 272's are a race cam not for the street.

S2's have more lift however and i'd rather have the extra lift in most basic applications.

same exact setup car to car,say GT30 sized turbo shifting at 8000rpm or less i'm betting on the car with the S2's.

but to the OP,it depends on what you are looking for but HKS 272 and JUN 272 have nothing in common except that they are both cam shafts.

Yea completely different cams. My choice would be to go fp4r that I daily drive on and are excellent cams or the gsc s2. I had hks 272 in my old setup and it felt like a 264 cam

I was just saying that in reply to the guy above me who was implying the GSC's would be better as they have an advertised duration of 274's vs the jun 272's.
