Switching from non-CDI to CDI?
Switching from non-CDI to CDI?
i have a noob question that i hope someone can help with.my car runs on the original AEM system and i have 2 maps.i am changing the motors out currently and purchased the Sparktech CDI pro-12.the car originally ran on the Sparktech non-CDI version.
i know they are both supposed to be plug-n-play,but when i start the car up with the new motor should i use the original non-cid and then switch to the Pro-12 or should i just switch while the car is down.
i guess my question are do either the cdi or non-cdi run off the AEM or are they independent of the computer?
i am changing quite a bit and plan to have my maps remotely upgraded, but will switching to the Pro-12 during the build be a bad idea, will it even crank with the upgraded ignition system, will the AEM recognize the different system or does the Em even care?
thanks and i apologize for the dumb question, but i wanted to be sure.
