High Idle and Idle Surge only with AC on when engine is cold
High Idle and Idle Surge only with AC on when engine is cold
Any ideas where to look for a fix for this? I have seen some people have similar complaints but none having anything to do with the AC. Without the AC on the car idles normally during warm up but if the car is still "cold"(in AZ cold is still 115*) then it idles really high and surges up and down at times. Once warmed up it idles normally again.
Its a 2.4 with Jun 272 cams. My breather/PCV setup is jacked up and I am waiting for JDL auto design to finish the catch can but there are no vacuum leaks.
And this just adds to the issues, lately I have been having starter issues too where you can hear the starter spin but not kick out and grab the flywheel to turn the motor over, and thats randomly too. It just needs to cool the heck down a little bit here so I can actually go out in the garage and work on my car without dying from heat stroke.

hmm, maybe I'll just cruise over there next week when I have time, he needs to check my tune anyway. This Arizona heat has been 110+ degrees for the past 3-4 weeks and every time I give it gas and it transitions from vacuum to boost I get a flashing CEL indicating knock.
Sometimes the car will just straight up stall out when I go to take off from a stop light, like the second I put my foot on the gas it just dies. And this also happens only with the AC on.
PS.....I want my Evo X back! Starting to hate this damn car.

Yah sounds like the tuner just needs to adjust the idle with the AC on. Should be a simple fix.
