stock frame or big turbo for 600 awhp?
I really like the 3586 and 3794 to be clear. Tastes change and I want something that is stupid responsive so back to a smaller stock appearing with some of my crazy mods for cam control, etc. Since I run on E85-E100 all the time, it doesnt matter if I want to push it down the road.

Had my fun with big numbers now I'm trying decide what I want to do with the car. I've realized that anything over 500 is pointless on the street and if you have no experience at a track, dangerous and if you are at the strip, not worth it. Lol. I'm thinking about going back to stock frame and actually getting to enjoy the car. I'm just afraid I'm going to want that power again and I had so many little issues it just seems like its not worth it. Since there are nn numbers on the bbk-c-bb I'm curious what it would do on my setup (big displacement, high compression, streetdriven car). Decisions decisions. There is a small part of me that would like to get into the 600 range on E85 but I think is be happy with mid to high 500s on E and high 400s to low 500s on pump. I want something easy to drive while still having fun and spank a vette or 3.

Back on topic.
you should get my setup. t4 full race twin scroll manifold manifold with 1.06 ar t4 twin scroll htagt3582r. I get 200whp and 20 psi of boost by 4,000 rpm on my stock motor. This would by the ultimate street setup if I had a built 2.4litter engine.
Also my stock motor is at 115,000 miles and 70,000 is with this turbo setup with no problems what so ever. car is daily driven 100miles+ everyday with ac in stop and go traffic. And I also autocross the car every other month. I drag raced it a few times and have 1 track day. Still never broke down.
I see my garrett/FP HTAgt3582r turbo lasting a very long time.

i think a 3586 on a 2.4 won't be laggy at all.i'm sure you hit 30psi by low 4,000's.
i would actually want something a little bigger on a 2.4 myself.i like a little lag for cruising around town or driving to a race.

no you hit the nail on the head, i am just torn on what to do. i hate lag and it seems that the fastest spooling big frame turbos are all twin scroll t4's thats why i wanted to go that route. but CBRD just said that its not worth doing so im totally confused on what i should do now. if i can have at least 300 ftlbs by 4000rpm id be happy. im highly considering the bw s300sx fmw turbo based on price and the fact that im not a honeywell turbo fan.
so i guess the stock frame is now out of the question, ive seen some laggy fp blacks that have 300ftlbs at 4,500 rpm and theres no flexability like there is with a t3/t4 ts setup.
if the t4 twin scroll is truly not worth the $$$ what hotside do you guys recommend for the powerband im looking for? .63 or .82
Really... When does the power come on, these are JB turbos right, last I checked they weren't doing these in a BB variant. I am curious because I love the spool of the stock frames but I want need to find something with some room to grow overhead wise. And I am torn between the EF4, ATP-GTX-3582R for stock frames and then the LMP35R kit for a T3 option. What is the lbs/min flow rate like on the EF4?
The EF4 is slightly larger than the FP Black, so I would safely assume that it flows in the 65-68 lbs/min range. I used to have the EF4 on my 2.4LR. If you have any concerns of wanting more power above +600whp in the future, then I would recommend a T3 set up. If not, the EF4 or FP Black would be the logical choices.
I make 300whp and 400wtq at 4,000rpm with my Black on a 2.3 in 3rd gear with s3 cams. A Black/Red/CBRD equivalent WILL make similar numbers.
That was last year on a journal bearing Black, making about 100whp less. Our track is not the friendliest for drag racing. 2200' elevation, and it was 115 degrees out. Lol. I havent been to the track in well over a year. Need to go once the temps come down a bit.
Being I am on a stock block we have the power really stretched out. Being I wanted to help the stock block and help it last. I make 30 lbs by 5500 which is kinda laggy but again its tuned that way to keep the tq down. When I was running a mbc I would have 32lbs of boost by 4800.

I am actually good with something in the 500 range, I just want to get there on pump. I can get to 85 but it's not readilly available, so DD on 85 isn't really a viable option. Also I thought the 82HTA FP Black was good for 68lb/min for sure... maybe that is the new BB variant; so that would make the EF4 closer to 69-70 yea? I would consider the BB black I'm just not a big fan of all the extra lines for oil that it requires and the "must use oil list" that comes with it. Maybe I should look more at this CBRD LMP as a T3 option, or the GTX3582R(73lb/min) as a better stock fram option. Your thoughts
Yes, my friend. I made that power on a single fuel pump. I was good with the tune after just three pulls as I did not want to push the fuel set up which I knew was a weak point.

Same wheels as they were ran origionally, and how the car sits now, same stretch of road one way and back same day same time, back to back pulls. Anymore questions?
