pulled DS Axle and stub shaft came out (no c-clip)

has anyone had this happen? i was changing the driver side axle seal and when i pulled the axle out the stub shaft came out with it and there was no C-clip on the end of it. i just bought the car 1 month ago. the guy had the transfer case changed and it seams the shop installed the shaft without the clip. is there anything i should look out for before installing it? with a new clip of course...

make sure the clip is not broken inside the TC. otherwise just put a new one on.

Is it magnetic? you could stick a magnet tool pickup in there.

Happened to me also.. Its fine as long as that c-clip isnt floating around in there. Just replace it or reuse the old one, like they said above.
