Not worth getting mad over, I mean it kind of sucks but at the same time I was planning on a rebuild this winter so it worked just came sooner than I want it to lol.

I got a few things I probably didn't need as well lol. Complete internals top to bottom, exedy hd dual plate clutch, spark tech COP all said and done just a little over 5.

I blew my #1 piston... Still haven't found the culprit, could you please explain the injector resistor pack and how to check it?

Thanks for sharing the info, hope all works out. First thing I've ever learned on evom is to ZIPtie the h3ll out of lines when tapping vacuum from FPR/int manifold.

Is there any reason for you switching ECU?
Good luck with the build!

When you pop your hood on you left hand side of the fire wall you'll notice two rectangles mounted one is the resistor pack. But I just pulled of the connections to the fuels injectors and tested the ohmic value with my multi meter and sure i enough four had failed.

Just something I wanted to do and after seeing te difference in the way cars run on a stock ecu and the hks vpro I wanted it even more. And it was night and day on start up idle and everything else.

If you mean the "difference" between the two is a running engine and a "blew" engine, then I don't know what else to say. Good luck with your rebuild man. Remember that the ECU is only as good as the tuner.

Lol I think me driving 170mp/h and my injector resistor pack failing played a bigger role than the tune since the only piston that melted was the one that the injector failed on. I trust the tuner he's been doing it for about 20 years and he does everything from my evo to surpa's and lotus. Even my car was at the shop the guys from hks Japan came through and did a tour since he's the only hks pro dealer left. He was devistated when I told him what happened and he even offered to retune and everything at no cost once it's complete. But at the same time I think if it was the tune it would have been more than just one piston.

Thanks though almost complete I get the assembled long block back tomorrow and the rest of the parts showed up yesterday so I'll post up some pictures and numbers of the whole experience.

Why were you using those Piggy back devices? Flashing is the way to go.

Hope you had it on a closed course, cuz the Cannazi Police will crush your car if it's caught 50 KMH over posted limit.

So you check the plugs coming out of the resistor pack? How many Ohms should they read? Thanks again!

I think it was 2.2 can't remember exactly. Did you get your injectors flow tested?
