Competition Clutch 6puck with Double Diaphragm PP!!!
Hi, guys, this is my first time at EvolutionM forums so please be easy on me, nah come on, please feel free to comment hard.
I have a Lancer 4G94 (I know what are you thinking...) but let me explain that my car is not stock or near that, I recently Custom Turbocharged it, and I FULLY FORGED THE INTERNALS, Wiseco forged with skirt coating custom pistons with nitrided rings, K1 Technologies forged connecting rods H, Fidanza adjustable cam gear, Unorthodox Racing lightweight pulley, 450cc High Impedance injectors, adjustable 1:1 fuel pressure regulator, Walbro fuel pump 255LPH, ZEX spark plugs, racing OML spark plug cables, T3T04E .50 .63 seted at 11psi with a 44mm wastegate, dump pipe vented to atsmosphere, HKS genuine Type III SSQV BOV vented to atsmosphere, HKS turbo timer, Tein Suspension, KYB shock and absorbers, Mishimoto Z line intercooler, 2.5'' intercooler pipes, 2.5'' downpipe with full 2.5'' straight tru exhaust with Kenobi High Flow CAT, fully custom Talon big turbo manifold wrapped with Mishimoto cooper wrap, and a lot of more things...
To see recent video of my engine bay, with full modifications list to the present please watch the next video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mrra931JkE4&feature=BFa&list=SP97A6F07F9B7D3E70
The thing is that when I turbocharged and fully forged, the stock clutch disc just get ****ed, so, I bought a new Competition Clutch 6puck sprung, but I take the stock Daikin Pressure Plate, and make a custom home made double diaphram to it, so it double the stock pressure LBS, then I installed everything very carefully and 100% aligned... so, when I started the engine again, it feels great the pedal still smooth etc. due that my car use a fully hydraulic throw out bearing; ok, then, I went to the streets and without any break in period, I just went into some full throttle races from first gear to fourth, whatever the car and clutch feels great, great torque, great great great
!!! But then, after some time like a month after that, just cruising etc. suddenly, the clutch pedal resistance goes away, it feels extremely soft, and then the clutch did not disengaged, it keep engaged all the time, so I was unable to change between gears
... I then, take down the transmission, and I discovered that the throw out bearing was BLOWN OF COURSE, all the transmission case was full of grease and brake clutch fluid
, whatever, I knew that my throw out bering system was not going to resist the double diaphragm extreme high pressures I KNEW IT SINCE THE VERY FIRST OR SECOND TIME I DECIDE TO DO THAT IDIOCY
... But the thing is, that now of course I bought another stock Daikin Pressure Plate, but still I will use the same Competition Clutch 6puck because is still new, not even two months of use on it, the surface is like new; I replace the throw out bearing; now my question: DO YOU THINK THAT A DAIKIN PRESSURE PLATE WITH THE CC 6PUCK SPRUNG, CAN HOLD UP TO 300WHP AND LIKE 350OF TORQUE OR THE CLUTCH DISC WILL SLIP???
Note: When the double diaphragm pressure plate explode my throw out bearing, I was at 240of torque and like 200HP estimated
those was low numbers of course, but due to the low boost setup, but now I will raise the boost up to 22psi, so I need to be sure about the PP and Clutch disc. Thanks a lot.
