Cam recommendations big turbo 6262 2.0

Hello evom.. Please respond if you have experience with these cams.

The car has a street port head, comp 280s, Supertech springs/retainers
1mm oversized valves

Car has a built 2.0 with 6262 making 650whp.. Down for a rebuild and curious if I should swap cams. Want the car to have great top end as its a highway/ drag car. Would changing to another cam gain me anything??

gsc s3s are a great choice, along with a kelford 280 or FP5R. If youre more concerned about midrange and spool, a s2 would most definitely still meet your goals

S3 seems to be the winner among forum people but the vendors say stay with S2 unless at 1000hp??

The vendors say what they do because many tend to over cam an engine. They're afraid of missing out on something, but usually end up just losing a bit of power under the curve. In actuality, the GSC S2 is a robust profile that provides 232 degrees of effective duration (1mm), and will support more power than your turbo can deliver. But the cam question isn't what draws my attention...

At this juncture Chase, while you're being meticulous in getting the most from that setup, I suggest prioritizing a full-on port job for that head before going cam shopping. It's the only way one can ever realize the full flow potential of the larger cam sets. AMS made a compelling case for this not that long ago.
