hey man, no problem! I just want people to see this kit because of its price and power... and no, i dont work for them.

Adam-
i hear you on that! It would be nice to see this come out and actually produce the same numbers on other dynos. Time will tell, but i do know that they built the quickest and fastest stock block VR6 turbo running DTA.

So what would you really need to concern yourself with if you bought this kit, with the obvious fuel upgrade?

Would all of that air flow need a new head gasket etc?
TIA!

What kind of fuel did they use for the dyno?

Anything below 3700 RPM makes this turbo look bad, but man does this thing jump high after....

how is it "bad" below 3700? it spools marginally slower and makes marginally less power than stock at the same RPM levels....

TAKEN FROM ATP WEBSITE
Engine is completely stock with the exception of a 3.00" exhaust system to compliment the 3.00" Stainless downpipe included in the kit. Stock airbox, stock front mounted intercooler, and stock cams are all retained. Fueling is done via 660cc injectors and a custom tuned Works Rally reflashed ECU.

I would assume that the injectors are accompanied by a higher flow fuel pump, but that seems to be it.

Lets compare

to

Now lets get one thing straight- i dont want to start a war here, i simply want to compare the cost/benefit of each of these turbo kits.

I was wondering the exact same thing Serge03, but there will only be a lot of bickering back and forth until two cars, one with the ATP kit and one with the Buschur are run on the same day on the same dyno. Even then one car will have something that the other does not and the pissing contest will start. I do not know anything about ATP, but I do know that Buschur is a very good company and I do not even own any Busschur equipment......yet.

Wow. This kit simply rocks in the design department. Two thumbs up for the crew at ATP. I would get this kit if I had an evo8. I have used many turbos on 4g63 cars and anything with 50 trim or larger deserves bb center section. The difference is transient responce is not gonna show up on any dyno graph That is my only beef with the burshur setup. bb option is not available.

Also to compare those two dyno graphs above?? Your kidding right? Burshur used AEM, no mass meter, apgraded intercooler, upgraded intake, ETC.... The spool and low end hp of the ATP kit is kicking butt considering the conditions.

Utilizing the stock exhaust mani just rocks. Plus you get external gate and bb turbo. Sorry but this kit just makes all the others look silly in my opinion.

Again two big thumbs up to ATP on this kit!!!!

That is pretty amazing considering there is no intercooler or cam upgrades.

They are pretty damn comperable on performance and price. The BR kit made more power, and without ball bearings spooled up faster. But it also has an upgraded FMIC, cams and upper IC pipe.

Given the same mods I think the peak power would be damn near identical with the spool advantage going to Buschur and a slight price advantage going to the other.

that ATP turbo kit is hot! i wonder how good/safe the works reflash is. think it'll handle more power?

i think some 264's can add more power in the midrange. 272s for some topend.

How much boost can ATP turbo kit go to before its outta its efficiency?

I was contacted with information about this kit several months ago.. It looks IMPRESSIVE.. and the guys there are very cool. One of the things that impressed me the most is the fact that it bolts onto the stock manifold (or header if you have one)

The only thing I never was certain of, is when production units were going to begin shipping, otherwise I would have already placed an order for one.

I'm not sure how many of their detail photos are on their site at this time, but from the photos they sent me, its a fairly easy swap from the stock turbo to their setup. The concern I had was with my buschur intercooler and MAF pipe and whether it would bolt up with little or no modifications.

I'm glad the cat is finally out of the bag.. I wanted to post about this for some time but wanted to wait until they had posted some actual dyno results.

Kind of expensive considering your really only buying the turbo.
