Making Evo8 2wd for dyno purposes?

I have a local dyno that is only a 2wd dyno...all AWD dynos are about 4 hours away, and i can use this dyno all day for cheap...

I know my 1G i just used VCE and pulled T case...

DO you have to weld center diff?

any easy way to make it on 2wd dyno FWD or RWD?

Everyhting I have read by searching this website and google. It can be made to work, but very bad idea. You will pretty much destroy your transfer case or rear end depending on which route you take (front wheel drive or real wheel drive).

For rear wheel drive it will cost money and lots of time.

Do not do it or think about it.

+1

I'd Imagine the conversion would take much longer than the drive.

Wow you seriously have to live in like the worst part of ohio! That is so far south!!!

However, please dont ruin the evo, I know west virginia and kentucky are close, but dont fall into their methods of madness when it comes to cars

I do not think this is a stupid thread at all.....So please dont call me stupid..

I did this to my 1G and it worked great....i even drove it RWD with no problems..

The reason i dont want to drive 4 hours for tuning is because i am limited on how much dyno time i actually get and it costs a lot per hour...

the dyno i can go to is pretty much free to my use all day....

Yes it is the furtherst south of OH

I guess to answer my question..i am guessing its not worth the trouble unless i weld my center diff and make something to keep T-case from leaking
i didnt know if took about the same work as doing a 1g or 2g to lock in center diff that way i could run either FWD or RWD...
I havent cracked this tranny apart and looked at how they are put together yet which i know its a ***** to take the tranny off and reinstall..

I had a DSM too, those cars had a real 2WD option so, yes it was easy to do.

The evo has no 2WD option, so please don't be stupid.
