Check your Clutch Fork Stops!

Thought my Exedy Twin Disk was shot after 10k miles, really bummed about it too. I checked my STM Clutch Fork Stop after not driving my car for a month and it had backed out so the fork had no movement ability. Took the fork stop out readjusted, wallah clutch holds torques again!

Just a heads up!

yep. On the first qualifying pass for the shootout last month I let the clutch out a bit too slow and after that it was acting pretty pissed. I later on discovered that the clutch (through my doing) was now letting the fork hit the stop.. had to readjust is a couple times and she's holding pretty good again for now.

Is this an easy job? Bought my evo about a year afo and it has a exedy twin disc which has been slipping. It has about 30k on it and I'm hoping thats all it is. I have no clue what I'm doing though and would like to know if I can do this myself or if I should take it somewhere

It looks like this, its attached to the clutch slave. Mine was completely agains the fork there should be i think 1/8 space between the bolt and the fork.

It is an easy job, just remove the intake off the turbo, UICP and adjust accordingly.

Wow. This is inspiring news. I have an exedy triple. It has about 7k on it and it is slipping pretty bad. I do have the stm fork stop too. I am really hoping that this is the issue. I am going to check and readjust my fork stop tomorrow. I really dont want to pay to rebuild the clutch. cant wait to see if this is the problem.

Same exact thing happen to me at 10k miles!

With someone in the drivers seat working the clutch, I can adjust it without removing it, it's a squeeze and my hands aren't small. I will probably cut a closed end side of the ?12mm wrench to give more room, but the open end works with a little patience.

This is why I completely removed mine...I had an STM one too and it just kept backing out so I just decided I didn't need to slam gears anymore for the car's sake and the clutch's.
