Hey guys, ill keep it short and simple. May be a dumb question, but just wanna make sure before i spend time trying! one of my evo's (2003) hatd he trans go out. A friend of mine has a transmission from his 06 or 07 mr and i was wondering what would be needed to use that tranny? Is there anything special that needs to be changed along with it? OR is it simply just a bad idea. Budget is important, so if it can be done but needs a whole lot of other stuff to make it work ----- just tell me its not worth it. Thanks for the help!

 

You can but have to change the base,sensors,and a couple of cables however do not put a 6speed in a car that has a 5speed since that would be going backwards for the most part. The mr 6speed are pretty weak and most people with them upgrade to a 5 speed myself included(saving).. Also its a lot cheaper to rebuilt the 5speeds then the 6.. What is wrong with your? look into jacktransmissin or shep for a rebuilt it would be the best bet depending on what you want. Good luck!
