tial pinched diaphragm causing over boosting

I have a twin scroll full race setup running 2 tial v44 wastegates. both wastegates have the big blue(13psi) spring in them. The problem is even with out a boost controller the wastegates are not opening until 26psi.

so I open both of my wastegates and one of them has a pinched diaphragm. This wastegate was new when I bought it so it must have been pinched from the factory.

is this causing my over boosting problem?

here are pics cuz everyone loves pics

It could be part of the problem. You don't have a cut in the vacuum line for your pressure source, do you? I had issues with overboost on my Green way back in the day running silicone lines like yours, and I traced it to a massive leak on the vac line to the wastegate.

As for the pinched diaphragm I could see if it has a tear in it, it might cause trouble. Put about 1-2 psi to the pressure line and see if it is leaking out. The 1-2 psi should be sufficient to see as there is no spring pressure. Good luck.
