dowel pin needed on crank??
dowel pin needed on crank??
I'm doing a clutch on my evo and just noticed there isn't a dowel pin in the crank for the flywheel ..is that needed ?..If so can i buy one from the dealer and hammer one in?..thx

The stock flywheel doesn't have a hole for a dowel pin. I am not sure about aftermarket flywheel but my twin disk had a spot for a dowel. I installed one then couldn't get it out when I installed a stock clutch. I ended up having to grind it down to use the stock flywheel.
Oh really the stock flywheel doesnt have a spot for a dowel..I'm use to working on 1g and 2g dsm's and I know people always use to say you need the dowel in there that the flywheel bolts alone aren't strong enought to hold alot of horse power ..Once those dowel's are in the crank there almost impossible to take out.
