Last night on the way to school my CEL light came one. Knew it was none of my aftermarket parts so I took it to the dealer and they pulled the code. The guy told me it was my "pre-cat" which needed to be replaced; under warrantee of course. Just wondering if anyone has had this problem. I never knew there was a "pre-cat" to begin with.

there is no pre-cat on the evo...unless it is buried in the stock dp. but as far as i know there isnt. you should get your own code reader. i need to get another one, cause my auto-xray is starting to hit the crapper

 

yeah I saw it on a the part break downs. It is almost right after the turbo housing..

You have to remove the heat shield and exhaust manafold...

I saw the code and watched the guy look it up... I'm not paying for it anyway, so they can change what ever they would like.

 

there is no pre-cat. There is no code for a pre cat for the evo.

 

ok well maybe it is for the 02 houseing... it is right after the turbo just about... under the heat shield, maybe that is what he ment.

 

If anyone has the part breakdown picture I'll show you where it is since he showed me the part that was ordered.

 

but dont you have an hks dp? so where is this pre-cat? did they say anything about all your mods?

no it is before the downpipe... no they didnt say anything about my mods...

OK, so which part is the "pre-cat?"

 

It was a different picture but 99% sure it is part 21 on that picture..

 

21 is the O2 sensor housing. No "pre-cat" there.

 

#21 is the 02 housing. Brett, tell us teh exact code # he pulled!
