Wastegate Leak! Please help!

Hi all-

I have a leak in my wastegate that is causing me some issues. I had Kevin at EvoD check it out and tighten the Vband clamps but it didnt get rid of the issue.

The wastegate is a Tial 44mm and it is on my ATP gt35r turbo kit.

I know its leaking because I see soot/exhaust on my radiator at the flanges.

Kevin told me he could pop it off and fix it for around $400 but I dont have the funds for that right now.

I have access to a friends shop that could help me weld it up, but my question is do I just need to buy new WG flanges and chop off the old ones and weld up new ones or is there an easier way to fix it?

Here is a pic for reference.

Thanks!

I would try welding it..it may look like crap, but it should work. Any irregular boost issues?

ATP is probably using a different style flange than the Tial has.
Proper way would be to cut off the ATP flange and weld a Tial one on.

I am unsure on the mileage but I was told about 15k. I am assuming it needs a freshen up anyways. I looked on Tials site and will pick up some flanges.

Yea a lot of money for sure, but he does good work so I am sure it would be worth it. I just cant afford that right now. I will be pulling this off this weekend and seeing what I can do with it.
