evo 8 bov question

hey just wondering I want to replace the plastic POS that came with my evo 8

Was wondering what you guys liked better

I already have an evo 9 bov but was wondering if tial bov was better? I got a good deal on a tial bov and upper that is set for a tial bov and wondered if it would be easier to have the tial over evo 9 bov

Thanks for you guys help. And it means nothing to sell the evo 9 bov if I need to thanks guys.

Tial Q or QR? If you are running speed density then the Q would be a good option

I understand that generally the 03's plastic POS DV is held in especially low esteem. For some reason my car came with one that really was not that wimpy. It did a serviceable job of bleeding off pressure spikes. It held reasonably well. I am not defending the POS Plastic DV valve. It has its place on a totally stock Evo although admittedly the metal IX DV is a better piece.

The stock evo9 is best if you are still on stock turbo.

Make sure its 100% recirculated or it will run like crap, mine did the whole time I had it.

My advice(which admittedly is worth squat) would be for you to first replace the plastic DV with the metal IX DV that you already have. Do this first. If it ain't broke don't fix it!

I realize that you just recently got your Evo and are eager to start modding it. However, be cautious about spending your money on what may be, at best, a needless mod. Don't just mod for the sheer sake of modding. Don't employ the knee jerk approach or you'll end up spending a lot of your money without achieving any measurable power, or performance gains.

The metal IX DV would be a nice improvement over you original plastic POS DV. Since it is a factory piece and recirculates bypassed charge air then you won't need a reflash to compensate a loss of metered air as you would with a VTA valve. Also it is plug and play: no new UICP, no mounting flange solutions and no retune needed.

I am not saying that the Tial valve is a bad option. For all I know it may function beautifully. I just think that since you already have the IX valve, you should just install that an call it a day.

Ultimately, as EvOikon already mentioned....the IX DV is all you need if you are still on the stock turbo. BV's/DV's by themselves as a mod do not add any power. If what you already have is adequate, then I wouldn't mess with it.

I recommend an APS Dual Stage Blowoff Valve recirculated back into your intake.
