SuperTech valve stem seals leaking?

Anyone else running dual-valve springs and the SuperTech valve seals that has had problems with the seals leaking oil into the cyclinders? I'm on my 2nd set of seals and they are leaking again. Blue smoke almost immediately upon starting the car up.

Any alternatives to the SuperTechs? STM did the work for me - they said this has happened in a few other Evos.

Does it smoke constantly?

Last time I had that happen to me it was because the head was cracked around the valve guide.

I have put multiple sets of these in and had no problems otherwise.

i beleive the gsc viton valve seals diameter is smaller than the supertechs, might give them a try. i know people have problems with the supertech seals hitting the dual inner spring, you would think the manufactuer would take that into consideration when making them

can try calling supertech. I ordered the supertech seals from lancershop and my machine shop noticed the seals didnt fit correctly even though it showed up as the right part. Supertech sent out two sets to me free of charge and the first set i put in fit perfect

No, but within a few minutes of starting up, it's puffing blue smoke. This is well before the car is even warmed up.

The car never made blue smoke before the cam+dual valve spring+valve stem seals install.

I did pull the turbo intake off and check for shaft play. There was minimal shaft play along the radial axis. No in-and-out movement.

I will look into those - thank you. That is the exact problem though - the smaller spring is hitting the seals somehow and in my car, it's causing the seals to leak.

I will try that - I've already put 2 sets of SuperTech valve stem seals in my car and it looks like I'm going to need a 3rd set now. Even though they are relatively inexpensive, this is a headache to keep dealing with this every 2-3 months.

dont get supertech seals!! i'm 100% positive the gsc viton seals will work, unless you have supertech valve guides???

supertech uses a smaller diameter seal set for use with their dual springs, just be sure they are sending you the smaller set and not a regular set..

I can't comment on the problem to help you, but when you rebuild, I'd avoid anything supertech. I know a lot of people still use them, but they have had problems in the past with their springs wearing out and loosing their stiffness over time. I gotta believe the install was done correctly if STM did it. No more supertech!

Yes, I have full confidence in STM, but they only run SuperTech valve seals.

That's no good Craig! I would try a different brand of seals like the others said to do

If you have supertech duals you should be using the reduced diameter seals, from an Acura 1.8L LS motor... I had to put these on my car last weekend due to the inner spring rubbing stock sized valve seals and leaking...

Craig I still run the stock valve seals as I only have hks 272 cams, I'm going to swap out to Kelford 272 cams with the supertech dual-valve springs as thats what my tuner recommends. I'm having the same issue upon start up,my car lets out a little puff of blue smoke. I'm sure my tuner is going to use the supertech seals. I haven't really noticed any oil consumption, does your car lose much oil and if so how often do you have to add oil?

I'm experiencing similar problem, right now taking off the exhaust manifold to see if there are any traces of oil, basically I don't see any smoke anywhere, clean coolant but I'm losing about 1/2qt. every 100 miles of just driving.

Motor is new 2.3L Stroker w/ SuperTech Valves, Retainers and Dual-Springs, I'd guess with their valve seals, but when I put my hand against the exhaust all the way in the back, I see oil droplets being spat out, but no smoke, also no oil traces anywhere under the engine on the garages floor.
