brand new motor, original problem was that it was smoking, pulled it apart and block was scored up. rebuilt block, had head tested for leaks, still smokes.
any ideas?

PCV valve is first on my list.
Could be a bunch of things. Turbo or oil return could be bad. PCV could be clogged. A full catch can can cause a lot of smoking. It is something that you need to diag to figure out. PCV is easy just take the hose off the valve and plug it and see if it still smokes. PCV would only smoke under boost if it was bad.

New rings will smoke until it seats the rings. The Chrome rings take a longer time to seat. I had a motor use oil and smoke for several thousand miles then finally sealed and was perfect for 60k more until it was overheated a few times and run without oil.
