Hey guys. I Have a evo 9. My car started smoking after I installed cosworth m2 cams(camsonly) and a t3 set up. Ams manifold pte 6266 jb. Trying to figure if the turbo is shot or if its the valve seals. I got the turbo kit off a good friend he bought it brand new only using it for around 100 miles before is clutch went and car sat for about 9 months before he decided to put the car to stock and sell it my car sometimes smokes without accelerating it but smokes a lot after accel. lmk guys thanks for you help. Here's a video.

I took the turbo off today lots of oil in the hot side. Turbo is busted. I ran i -4an oil feed with no restrictor. From the research i did I need to run a -3an line or a -4an with restrictor. Anyone can confirm this. But i need to send the turbo for a rebuild first.

afaik oil restrictor is required on the BB, not JB, but I am not sure about the -3an/-4an.
Just like you said, send it back for a rebuild and ask precision to upgrade it to a BB unit.

Smoke Color looks white on my computer at home so I suggest you clean out the PCV valve and try again.

Wow that's unfortunate I hope the restrictor was the problem, ballbearing turbos require lots of different factors in order to run them. Make sure you run the correct oil too

Did you run it off of the head or the oil filter housing also?
