ZEROSHIFT!! Unbelievable

The newly developed gearshift from ZeroShift Ltd., the ZeroShift™ (patent-pending) boasts zero gearshift time, the period between a drive is interrupted and the next ratio is selected. Eliminating synchromesh components, the gearshift system can reduce emissions and lower fuel consumption due to an absence of the conventional “off-then-on action” on the accelerator pedal, which momentarily enriches the fuel-mix. ZeroShift is based on a donor manual gearbox with internal modifications. It does not require changes to the clutch or bell housing, and is able to modify existing transmissions. It is operated by a conventional stick-shift, but can also be fully automated.

There is a great article on Racecar Engineer about this.

If an aftermarket Manufacturer would make this for the EVO I would buy it in advance. They say that transmission needs minor modifications on Racecar Engineer.

Exactly. 0 milliseconds between shifts. It can be used with manual stick so you don't need or use a clutch from what I understand, just move the stick into the next gear

Follow this post. Let's discuss this. Very little info available due to patent pending.

Good article on Racecar Engineer.

thats sick, but i kinda like shifting when im just cruising at moderate to fast speeds. But for racing i can see how that would win a lot of races.

is it still in the traditional 1-5,R Position or is it a totally different thing because i cant imagine how it works without grinding. do you have to change where the clutch is or what? i dunno i guess im just too confused.

www.seqshift.com

they make a sequential shifter that allows you to operate it in automatic mode in which you shift without the clutch.

how are they able to make it shift without letting out the clutch? Well it says on SEQSHIFT.com that their Racer Seqshift has an electronic disconnect trigger and when engaged it disconnects the ignition for the moment you shift allowing you to shift without the clutch.

they also have a kit ready made for the Evo's although they dont say for which model specificaly.

Hmm. I wonder if you can launch with this. Flawless launches would be awesome.

Why don't you just get an automatic?...
To me part of the fun of driving a manual is to do everything manually.

Well, Enzo don't have a manual clutch. I'm pretty sure it's still fun to drive.

Guys read the article on Racecar Engineer if you can. I read it today. This thing is a revolution in transmission. They say that they are sure that within 10 years every car sold will have this. I can be made manual or automatic and apperantely you can retrofit almost any transmission.

Thats what they said about beta video and the mini-disc. Better technology but too expensive for consumer market.
