Clutch Line Install Question

I'm gonna be doing this this weekend, but I was wondering - even though the clutch reservoir is sectioned off from the brake reservoir, we have to fill it with the same TYPE of fluid correct? What kind of fluid should we put in there? Does it matter? Can I just go to AutoZone and pick up some DOT3 stuff and throw it in there or what?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

DOT 3 or DOT 4 is fine. Pick up and replace the stock bleeder with a SpeedBleeder screw at Kragens and make the bleeding a breeze.

It's a pain in the *** without a speed bleeder. USE THE STOCK BANJO BOLT!!! The one that comes with the kit is too long and causes it to leak from the master.

Yeah I heard about that banjo bolt issue.

Is that with just the lancershop.com clutch line, or with the z1auto clutch line?

I had heard most of the issues were with the lancershop.com line..

I have the lancershop.com clutch line and used their replacement 14mm banjo bolt. I have no leaking issues, didn't buy a speed bleeder either. If you have 2 people the bleeding is a breeze, just use one of those tube/bottle rigs and keep going till there's no more air.

I used the Valvoline Brake Fluid that has a Dry Boiling point of 500F. When you are bleeding the clutch line it will drain the entire brake resevoir so make sure after each few pumps you fill it back up to the top.

On a side note, if you take a look at the 17mm banjo bolt where the fluid comes through, the opening is too large for the internal spacing on the lancershop.com clutch line....this is why I used the supplied one, it mated up correctly.
