Not sure what you are trying to accomplish in this thread. I wouldn't expect MAP to give you a turbo free of charge since you bought the car with it already installed.

Well I can personally say my ef3 now had almost 2k miles and it's still going strong only issue I have is for some reason I'm not spooling untill 5+k @ 26lbs but Chris and Nate have been nothing but excellent help with me but untill I get rid of my stock o2 housing I'm not making any decisions about the turbo beinto blame for slow spool
But again hands down great customer servious

And to add another point to this ef3 I am currently at 401 hp and I walked a 450hp evo with a FP t3 turbo just saying the once it hits this thing Goes

All in all you can't go wrong with eaither turbo IMHO just from what I read and please corect me if I'm wrong reds will spool faster but I think ef3 flows more so it can put out a little extra power like I said correct me if I'm wrong maybe Chris can help with that but again you can't go wrong ether way

Well FPs warranty is second to none. Their BB red is a champ and a beast with the the right setup, e85 and a good tuner. Ill pay the extra $ for the piece of mind of knowing FP has been making turbos and only turbos for a long time. Most tuners around my area are not familiar with the ef3 and are with the FP and therefore they suggest the FP. That isnt a knock on map or their turbo. But i just want a turbo from a company thats been building them for years. As far as a 401 walking away from a said 450whp evo with an FP. Theres so many variables to that it doesnt hold any ground. Driver, tune, actual power numbers, drivetrain and so on.....

You may have a problem with your WG actuator arm, is it the Turbosmart adjustable? If so, check that the arm isn´t too long as it might be preventing your wastegate from closing at all. To check this you need to open the Turbosmart WG and see if the orange diaphragm has any signs of being pressed between the arm´s dish shaped end and the black WG removable cover, if it´s being touched then the flapper dish inside the turbo´s hotside is never closed.

I was only making the point of how strong the turbo comes on once spooled your very right about tune and set up we were both tuned and built at the same place but I'm not disagreeing with you about FP I mean if I had the cash for the DBB I would I'm just defending the ef3 and map saying I now have over 2k miles and no issues and I haven't personally felt with FP so I can't say good nor bad but dealing with the guys at map has been awesome good luck buddy I'm pretty sure we talked over pm and your set up looks good good luck with the build and keep me posted I'd like to see how yea do

@Zenoise- Can't go wrong with the FP RED. I had a JB RED on my car and with a mellon racing tune and GSC s1's.... My car made 430WHP/380WTQ @ 23psi on 93 and then 503WHP/430WTQ on E-85 @ 32psi. I lifted my head while tuning so it probably made a little more after i installed headstuds and got her tight again. Hope you enjoy it! I have a BB Black sitting at my house now!!

These are numbers i am looking for. I have arp headstuds. Look at my sig and with those mods and my bb red im hoping to hit 450whp on 93 and be well over 500whp on e85. Think thats doable?

Exactly. Plus, take into account of how it was maintained/ driven by the previous owner, and possibly current owner.

Hey op this maybe a little off have you thought about the green of your goals are around 450 on pump the green could still get you there but be a little more fun on the streets I know the red and black don't really "open up" per say till you start pushing heavy boost I would go red but it's also I have higher power goals I would look in the dyno results section I was there last might and saw some impressive set ups on a green that look very fun just another idea for yea

What does the different prices you asked about have to do with it then? You posted complaining the turbo gave out in 2000 miles and you weren't with the original owner to see how it was treated or you caused it to be trashed so quickly.

Well i did but ive heard that the green can come on almost too quick and become a torque monster which would be fun but not for my engine. Torque kills. Plus a little turbo lag can be nice for street driving. It can save u gas cuz u arent coming into boost so soon and so much. Its all preference. For me id like to have a little lag down low for when my girlfriend is with so i dont have to hear her *****ing about her head going back n forth lol. Plus the red gives me room to grow if i ever decide to build my motor up. I actually thought about going black but idk idk. ')
