my evo 8 wont pass 16psi!!help!!

hi i need some help..my evo 8 was running 21 psi before and then it dropped to 16psi and now i cant get it to go back to 21...i did boost leak and had a leak in the intercooler and the throttle body shaft seal was bad...so i replaced for new one fixed all leaks but still 16psi....tried to adjust wastegate still 16..so i have no idea what it could be...i did single spring mod on my greddy type s could that be?or i might have a bad wastegate? i put a hose going from the turbo straight to the wastegate but it was doing 21 like that before so i dont think it might be the problem...any ideasss....???im deff around 400hp and it was running 21psi in perfect condition...

my mods are

Greddy Tri C Catback exhaust 3
QTP Electric Cutout down pipe
AEM Intake
Crower 280 Cams
Ported EVO 9 Turbo
JUN Tubular Exhaust header
ACT lightweight flywheel
ARP head studs
greddy type s resirculated
Innovative Wide band 02
Greddy Turbo Timer

ams injectors
walbro fuel pump
thanks for the help..

Since you messed with your BOV, I would start troubleshooting that first. You might try installing a factory DV in its place if you happen to have one laying around. Otherwise remove the BOV and plug or block off the hole(s) in the IC pipe and/or intake pipe where the BOV is mounted and test it that way w/o a BOV.

well it dropped a couple days after i raced someone...it was deff boost leak in the beginning because was leaking from intercooler but now i did a boost leak test again and it holds 20+....the only plug i unplugged was the trhottle sensor to change the shaftseal but i put it back and did the volt test to .73 closed and 5. open.. my maf sensor plug was bad too so i put a new one...now im stuck and dont know what else it could be...my wastegate seems to be working too...

So with the bov w/spring mod it holds 20+ psi during the boost leak test? It shouldn't be the BOV though. Confirm that you are using the stock bcs and the lines are hooked up properly.

well when i did the boost leak test i took the intake out and put the tester in the turbo but the bov was fine before that happened....im going to try to put 2 spring again tomorrow and see what happens .

So for the wastegate shorter means more boost and longer less right?

tx

What are you using for boost control? Granted you took the intake off the bov is still on the uicp. Is it leaking?

So you have no real way if managing boost pressure. If I were you I'd at least run a mbc. With the way you are setup you'll only see waste gate pressure.
