how long you have over 500 whp on stock block?

Hey guys, I would like to know from the ppl running over 500 whp on the stock block.how long have you been running this kind of power without any problems? I got a gtx3582r waiting to be installed but idk how long the stock block can make that high of power until something decides to break. Reason I ask I asked a shop not gonna say who but they gave me a quote of 5K to build me a built 2.0. It might just be me but that seems high, I can order a map 2.4 short block and still have nearly 2k left over. Just want to know if possible how long I can have fun with the turbo before having to build my block.

Any advice is greatly appreciated

It really depends on how much torque you're making, not the hp. The stock block is rated in and around 400tq. You could have a 500hp/350-400tq and it should be alright. A good tuner will know how to keep the tq in the safe zone. For example, the Ferrari F430 is rated at 483hp/383tq. I've noticed most european supercars have high hp/lower tq #s. I'd go with MAP as well.

what your asking cant be answered easily. So someone might tell you, 20, 000 miles and still going strong!

Someone might say, 5000 miles and blew up. All depends how healthy the motor was, and how well its' been treated. Does it get launched? Properly warmed up? Abused? Tracked? Proper oil changes with right oil?

And as far as getting quoted 5000$ and think its pricey, then get a second opinion and have something to compare it to. Second of all, if you think thats high, stay away from motor builds. Because it isnt cheap.

Are you running on e85? Feel like you would have to be to get those numbers. I myself am interested Id like to be with my new tune somewhere in 400hp and 370tq. But to answer your question we had a guy on fp red on water meth make 580/440-450 I dont recall tq but I know it was over 400 and he lasted a year and a half id say about 15k and hard miles tracked it about every weekend and all that happened was a bearing. But the tuner knew his stuff. I would say a lot would have to do with the tune from all the info ive searched about the subject. Im planning on hitting those numbers and calling it a day for my evo for at least a year.

If you have the money to build a 500hp motor...spend a little more and build up the bottom end...or pay more later for new block...possibly new TC and tranny if your bottom end blows up...500HP motor will put you above 400TQ and TQ is what will kill your bottom end...mine lasted 30,000 easy miles until that one gloomy night...

Doesnt matter the miles either if it never get beaten on either...

if you want to play it safe, build a block. if your goal is 500whp and thats it then id do it on a stock block. if you want more than that later like 600,700, etc then you can build it now.

my goal id 550whp and 10s and im doing it on my stoxk block

All depends on options and if you mean shortblock or longblock with a head to match the rest of the motor.

Short block. Wiseco pistons. Whatever you'd recommend for 500-600whp on a Black or EF4.
