Engine bay firewall insulation question (removal)

Guys,

I know that the RS version of the Evo 8's and 9's do not have the black insulation on the engine bay side of the firewall.

If I remove the insulation from my 2003 GSR, will I end up with something that looks 1/2way decent underneath it? It's ripped and sagging in a few places, and I'd rather just remove it than replace it. Just dont want to get it off and wish I didn't.

Thanks!

It should look fine. I dont think you will have glue residue or anything like that. It looks to just be mounted on there by screws and nuts that also secure other things as well. I have my whole engine out and imho it still looks like it would suck to remove. Looks like you have to remove the booster, abs module and lines.

Pull the stuff off... It looks 100x better. It rips/tears/cuts real easy so there is no need to remove everything on the fire wall. FYI, it's not glued on in anyway so there is no glue or anything left behind.

I did it on my mr while I had the intake manifold off for a ams one. So wasnt to bad to do. I just couldn't get it off around the brake booster but you can't see it. It's not horriable but still a pain in the *** abit. Especially with abs brake lines. If ya have any more questions just ask but it def looks alot better without it.

I wish I would have done that earlier today before I dropped my engine and Trans back in . Oh well I'll pull it out anyways as is. It should reduce a few pounds of weight too .
