Exclamation Modifications: How far can I go with my warranty?

Does an aftermarket downpipe void the manufacturer warrant. I have a black 03 evo and would like to mod it to the limit. How far can I go before the manufacturer says bye bye warranty

It all depends on how cool your dealer will be about it. Some dealers void warranties on an aftermarket air filter, whereas my dealer is still doing warranty work on my car, even with my listed mods.

The typical response to this post should be in line with what what was said above. My only advice would be to talk to your service manager about your plans and see what his reponse to those are. Typical flow mods are usually fine while some of the more knowledgeable service managers accept more aggressive modifcations within reason. Also, mention the fact that you'd have the installs done at the dealership.

it depends on your mods and depends on your problem...ultimately it is not up to the dealer it is up to the law.....Magnus Moss Warranty Act.....do some research......basically what it says is that an aftermarket part has to specifically designated as the cause for the problem of which warranty repairs are being requested........so if you put on a dp and your sunroof breaks, they better damn cover it
