B&B muffler discussion
I read that everybody thinks this muffler is restrictive? I call B&B directly and they say the muffle is straight through. He said you could drop a golf ball through it = no baffles. It seems that the hole is just offset in the rear.
Can anybody confirm this? Why does everybody think the muffler is restrictive?
Does anybody know if the catback has fitment issues? I remember there being an issue of needing thicker gaskets. Was this just for the turbo back?

I had the B&B turbo back put on last week. It was a perfect fit, quality was top notch and the sound was perfect to me.
The real surprised came from how much HP was gained by this system. It was amazing to me. And, it is the only mod I have other than a drop in K&N filter.

Yeah dude, I've got the B&B also...I have full-turbo back....B&B is top notch quality....It is one of the most freely flowing exhaust available for the EVO....Not sure who'se been saying it's restrictive but I'm sure whatever exhaust they have is not adding 25whp......just something to think about. Only other option would be the Forge GHL, as I've read it's a very good flowing exhaust also.
I think the GHL looks good, but the DP looks like it has too many kinky bends in it. I am considering the HKS DP, a 3" test pipe, and the B&B cat back. I just wanted to make sure the muffler was truly a straight through design. It is definitely the best looking IMO, and the sound clips I've heard are exactly what I want.

I have the very 1st turbo back, as they used my car, (as well as Vidid racing's), to prototype the system.
I actually have the prototype.
It's been 7 months and thousands of miles. No leaks, still sounds good, (not too loud but deep enough to know there's some serious HP in there). I'm even still using the gaskets that some people were complaining about. (They did send me new upgraded ones just incase.)
I saw the mufflers being assembled, there are these angular, mesh type baffles, in the center, but there is plenty of room around them for flow. Build quality is tops.

Only issue was on early models that had warped flanges on catback. I was one of the unfortunate people to receive a defective one. Seems to have been resolved with newer ones.
DP is perfect fit, no rubbing cross braces. Sound is great, not loud just lower. Power is very good.
