Hi Guys

Strange issue :
This has happened twice at the exact same location , so what happens is while driving (on motor motorway/highway) as I start climbing the hill/slope I am probably doing about 90km/hr in 5th gear cruising and as I put down boost starts to increase then suddenly no power as if the turbo switched off or maybe car switched off. I quickly/instalntly take my foot off the accelerator and hear blow off vavle and then I slowly accelerate again (not putting foot down just lightly) and car still going.

The first time it happened was maybe 2-3 months ago when it happened and happened at same location on the motorway/highway (up hill) I just drove home slowly and checked car was ok. Took it for a test drive and boosted 1.4 bar and car is fine but I only tested 1st 2nd and 3rd gear.

So any ideas what im experiencing ? Is it fuel cut?? Boost is at 1.4 bar and the issue seems to be happening on 5th gear only and when im on a hill/incline and crusing at about 80-90km/hr and when I suddenly put my foot down.

I do have a hks evc and its set to 1.4 bar high (low is at 1bar) with warning set to 1.5bar. I don’t think its hitting boost cut because the boost controller is not making warning sound (beep). My Apexi power fc is reading knock as 5, so no issues there.

Im really scared to drive the car and don’t want to cause harm to my engine

ps: i have a tuned apexi power fc, 272hks ,dialed in hks cam gears, walbro pump , evo 9 turbo ,hks evc , hks bov, blitz nur spec 3" exhaust, apexi sus filter.

 

I feel as if the same happened to me yesterday, on a nice highway drive. I was climbing a hill, as I was about 50% on the throttle(.5 bar) I reached about 3/4 the way up the hill I went WOT and hit fuel cut as I instantly over boosted. Same situation, no were near the same mods but this sounds exactly what happened to me. I'm gonna toss a new set of plugs in as I haven't in the last 10xxxkm and it is now below freezing temp with winter here.
