P0011 (I searched)

Car is an Evo 9 has HKS 276's...I have searched and my troubleshooting procedure at the moment involves double checking mechanical timing and making sure there are no advancements beyond 28.8 in my MIVEC map.

-I have checked my MIVEC map.
-I have made sure my MIVEC solenoid is plugged in.
-I have checked my mechanical timing by placing the cylinder closest to the timing belt (#1) at TDC using a dial indicator. Once TDC was found, I looked at the cam gears vs the marks on the valve cover and they were dead on to the point that if they were moved one tooth in either direction they would be significantly off.

What I did not check was the mark on the MIVEC gear...where is the line on the MIVEC gear supposed to point? Can the car be out of time even if the cam gears line up correctly?

From what I understand...the MIVEC gear can rotate +/- XX degrees inside of the cam gear driven by the timing belt. This adjustment is done via a solenoid that controls the amount of oil pressure fed into the gear. I am assuming some sort of spring forces the gear to regress to 0 if no oil pressure is fed.

As far as more background on the code -- it usually appears after 1-2 days of driving and appears regardless of whether I drive the car hard or soft.

Regards,
-Duo

Feel bad about bumping this one again but I'd like to get a bit more exposure during primetime when there's a higher chance of people seeing the thread.

Search P011, Some people did not add the extra 0.

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...po11-code.html

But also they did not find a solid answer.

I would check the Cam Sensor for being 180 out or installation of the actual MIVEC cam gear its self, as noted in the link. I am not at home but the Manual had the right info for me when i did my cams.
