Installing ARP conrod bolts
Installing ARP conrod bolts
Hey.
So im trying to install ARP conrod bolts on some stock Evo 5 conrods.
Whats happening is that when the thick part of the bolt reaches the hole it gets stuck and i dont know if im supposed to bang the bolt in or torque it in? I tried torquing it a bit but it felt as maybe i was destroying the conrod.
Whats the proper way of making the ARP bolts go all the way through the hole?
Thanks
Nick

Well, some shops press them in, others knock them in with a brass hammer.
But either method will distort the big end bore, the rods should be resized back round.
The High to low spec is about .0007
If you do not at the minium have the big ends checked for round, you stand a good chance of having bearing issues.
