...stand for?

Bought the NC Evo 9 (https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sa...l#post10476011) and there is no comprehensive list of all of the mods/changes done to stock. Been tracking down most of them, but several lengthy internet searches have failed to give me even a clue about the "CHIBA" on the header.

What's the facepalm answer I am missing?

Hmmm, that's a tough one. But, run with this: Chiba is a prefecture in Japan. Narita Airport and Japan Disney World are located there.

Talking Much appreciated, Sparky...

...but I actually flew electronic reconnaissance ("spy") missions out of NAF Atsugi Japan against Russia, China and North Korea from 1974-1977 even though I was technically based in Guam.

Just kind of figured if Evos don't come stock with headers marked "CHIBA" that it must be aftermarket. That led me to wonder what sort of performance improvement it might bring over stock.

BTW, the Evo I bought looked better than the pictures - literally like it just rolled off the showroom floor - Jason was great to deal with and shipping was unbelievable. I identified uShip.com for Jason (specifically Inter-City Auto Transport) - he called on a Friday, the Evo was picked up the following Monday morning in North Carolina and delivered the next morning here on the MS Gulf Coast in perfect condition for a little more than $600.

Now, about those "CHIBA" headers...

If you post up some pics of the headers, someone on here is bound to recognize them I'm sure.

Looks like an EBAY header. They have many different brand names they sell under. Just a tag welded on the same headers.

Must not have searched for very long. It took me all of 15 seconds to find this link. http://www.ichibausa.com/ProductDeta...ode=MT%2D12011

No pics of the exact one but I believe this is what you got, an Ichiba manifold. Maybe the I got worn down so thats why you only see CHIBA.

Much thanks...

...the "I" is burned over so badly I could not clean it.

Wonder how much HP the engine recognizes from that header?

Thanks again!
