quartermaster 8 leg street....frustration

ok guys i just recently installed my 8 leg street version qm clutch and PEDAL STOP.
My problem is after 900 miles clutch is starting to slip. and the car makes around 600whp and 450 tq. I have a toxic fab pedal stop which i took off the adjustment screw on it to lower the pedal and still slips so i even tried taking it off completely to lower the engagement even more and it still slips can someone please help me.

I'd like to hear more about your issue. I had the new QM 8 leg street setup on my last Evo. I didn't have any pedal stop other than what may have been OEM. My only issue was the intense sensitivity of this setup--it is or off. I stalled my Evo may times trying to learn how to take off. Unless I feathered the gas and slipped the clutch it would die. I knew that it wanted me to simply mash the gas and side step the clutch but unless I was on the track I wouldn't do as such. Very, very temperamental clutch but I can tell you that once I was going I could speed shift 2-5 without any issue.

Well if i lower it doesn't that increase the travel of the throwout bearing breaking the seals on it also? (talking about seals on the throwout bearing).....

And i thought it was a must to have a pedal stop?

Also another question when installing the hydraulic throwout bearing are you supposed to retain the little shield that sits around the shaft on the transmission

I didn't have a pedal stop with my setup unless there is an OEM one.

It may not have been shimmed correctly at the HRB when it was installed. Mine had 740whp with no problems on that clutch and my friend had 800hp on a 6 leg with no problem.

the shield must be removed, Sounds like you might have slipped the clutch too much and glazed is causing it to slip. If you pull the clutch you'll see lots of hot spots on the flywheel. QM are very easy to over heat with street driving.

A question I would have is how do you know the proper amount of shims to use? Trial and error? Lol

He shouldn't have to shim anything since he's on the stock crank.

You should measure the gap between the HRB and the pressure plate fingers. Also if you "overshim" the HRB, the same thing can occur as it will always be partially disengaging the clutch and never at its full holding capacity.

Break in period?
Brand new or used?
Street or Race flywheel?
When is is slipping? High RPM. Regular driving.

That's what I was thinking as well.

That's the problem it was never shimmed or anything.

The problem might be that he disc are glazed from not breaking them in.
