DIY: Clutch pedal Stop

So I just wanted to add my experience with my new Evo 9 and while I'm at it I figured it couldn't hurt to write a quick DIY.

If you're like me then your clutch grabs closer to the rest position than near the floor and I was noticing that I was depressing the pedal too far and unnecessarily stressing the pressure plate. The goal was to reduce the amount of space in the pedal travel between the floor and where it actually engages.

1. Go to hardware store and buy a pack of Gripper pads (4 bucks for a pack of 8)



2. Peel off backing of pads and stack 5 of them on top of each other like a roll of quarters. You may need to add one more like I did but 5 is a good starting point.

3. take this stack of gripper pads and stick it onto the factory clutch pedal stop which is screwed into the firewall behind the pedal arm.



4. Press down firmly with your palm to seat the stack of grippers and go for a test drive. If your car is like mine, 6 pads is the magic number of grippers and your clutch will now feel amazing.
