hey guys, im brand new to this. I have just bought my first evo8, it is slightly modified with evo9 turbo, fuel pump, injectors, exhaust, cams and so on, apparently was tuned 5 months ago at 243kw. Any way what i have noticed is that it is loosing boost from about 5000 - 7000. What do you think this could be? is it normal?

 

How much boost are we talking?

 

It's normal as long as its not to much. It's called boost taper. 3-5 psi is acceptable depending on your boost control setup.

Being that your new to EVO'S you going to be doing alot of boost leaks tests. That maybe the root cause of problem as well.

 

It max's out at about 25, then drops to 22 - 23. I had thought that maybe the turbo wasnt capable of that much?

 

Sounds pretty normal...
