Question buschur exhaust

ok i have had this exhaust for abour 2 months and it really kicks *** i must say. looks pimp, took of .6 with just that from my 1/4 time..

but it rattles soo bad when i make a right turn/ and at idle.
i think when i make a right turn it must move and hit my drive shaft because thats what it feel like and it only happens when makin a right turn. i took a look and tried to see what else was wrong. it look slike it is about 1/2 a centameter from the heat fin that is on my tranny. im sure it hits that bechaust it is sooo close. a peice of paper wouldnt fit in between the two. also when driving i feel like my seat is movin some becuase of the ratle i have, i feels like i have a flatulance problem it rattle's pretty bad. i have everything as tight as can be and often check that so it;s not that. but it is real anyoing and what happens if it eats a whole in my exhaust.

imsonastie, you might want to try adjusting the exhaust a little. since the exhaust is held together using clamps instead of the typical flanges, you have a little more rotational play that you can mess with and that'll help you out. it took me quite a few tried to get the tip centered correctly and at the same time make sure that it doesn't hit against the crossmember area, but its fine now...doesn't hit anything no matter how hard my car is able to corner at this point and the tip is centered....just not vertically tho. if that still doesn't help, you may want to invest in a set of polyurethane mounts for the exhaust system.

With mine i needed to remove about 3/4" from the catback section... also if everything is loose and then you start at the front and work your way back I've found it easier to locate the exhaust so that it doesn't hit things...

rraulston had this problem when he put the exhaust on his car very recently. I think he ended up needing spacers because the exhaust would hit the supports under the car. I don't know the exact details. you might try giving him a PM

Do you have a cat, if you do you must angle the cat down a little so it doesnt hit the heat shield. And secondly, you will need spacers to clear the down pipe. When I first installed the exhaust, it would fit fine with out the spacer but once I ran it for 20-30 miles, I noticed that the down pipe was hitting that cross bar.

You are probably hitting the rear housing. If the bend in your exhaust is right at the housing then the catback tube has not been pushed forward enough. At least that is what I have read on the forum and experienced myself. I have the Bushur JDM turboback and I am going to do that adjustment this weekend.

In another thread David Buschur told someone to cut 1" off the end of the catback tube where it goes into the Cat. That will allow the tube to slide in a little further and eliminate the clearance problem.

Hope this helps, if not, do a search cause that's how I found the info.

If you just can't get it to fit shoot me a PM and let me know exactly where it is hitting. I will try and help. If I can't I will come up with another solution.

i had the same problem with my UR" test pipe when it was really wet out. I got some kartboy hangers and installed them. The car hasnt been drivin in really wet conditions yet but the exhaust is a hella lot stiffer.

You didn't get 4 spacers? You only need one on each side of the crossbars.

Go to www.kartboy.com and get the exhaust hangers. From a lot of postings here it seems to do the trick on all types of rattling aftermarket exhausts.
