I had an annoying tick coming fron the resonator as of late so I figured I would chop it out and weld in a piece of 3" stainless and call it a day. Got the mid pipe out of the car and chopped the resonator out to find that it has a substantial neck down... probably to 2.5" inside! Also there is a neck down in the piping where it was intended to meet the stock cat...Welded on a new 2 bolt flange and a new piece of stainless on and it actually quieted the car down and reduced the drone on the highway... I will take a pic of it and measure the neck down if I can later today...

CLIFF NOTE: If you have a greddy tic exhaust i would reccommend getting at least the resonator chopped out and replaced with straight pipe...

Here is a pic of the inside of the resonator...

Here is a pic of a piece of 2.25" piping that almost fit through the center...

I thought this was one of those exhausts people were raving about how it was full 3" through out. That is pretty wild they neck it down to less than stock exhaust size. Great find!

This isn't the cat flange... this is the resonator by the rear axle... however the cat flange did neck down to 2.5"
