At the time had stock exhaust and then added this. now I have TurboXS RFL Ti catback. Still have stock *****, looking into options, pobably going 3" hi flow or possibly cat delete. I heard it stinks though so I am undecided.

Does a high flow cat make your CEL come one? And do you smell more gas than with the stock cat? And which High FLow Cat is the one to choose so these things wont happen. All I have now is an Exhale from WORKS.

Also with the DP, will it make the exhaust much louder? I plan on keeping the stock mid pipe with its two resonators. Also the DP Im more than likely going to get will be the HKS.

And if all high flow cats are going to be gas stinky, I think I will pass on that and just get the DP.

I will still see some good gains with just a DP, yes?

Thanks
I have a high flow cat with no stinky smell or CEL. I bought it from buschur and installed it myself. It works well and keep the sound a little quieter. I have had 0 problems with this high flow cat, it utilizes 2 catalyst blocks for the uber high flow cat with minimal restriction. Unlike other cat on the market which you can see directly through which will give the smells and probably the Cel, the one from buschur is a great high flow cat.

My 2 cents and then some,
Dan

I would understand that if you had upgraded the turbo or something of that nature. But from stock there is no way in hell you could gain that much hp from just a downpipe with the stock cat in place. He was asking which would give more hp , well losing the stock cat would up the hp . I have a 3in turboback from buschur with a high flow cat (with alot more mods). I sure as hell didnt gain no 21whp from just a downpipe DUDE. The stock cat is just like a restrictor you can only get so much out of it.
It seems to be common wisdom that the DP is hugely important. I always thought that the cat was very restrictive and would yield big gains from upgrading..... I've been told that a high flow cat will not gain you much power but a test pipe is a huge power improvement. The DP seems to really free-up power and improve spooling even with the stock cat in place. I've got a 3" cat back and it makes a difference. I'm going w/ 3" DP + test pipe next....

I Dont think Hi-flow cat will make CE light, iam getting one on monday with 3" full catback - o2 goes on the hi flow cat. -kindda jdm design. they are saying it's hi flow cat but its really a test pipe - on which you can't pass emmision ( i dont want that smell when summer comes so it will help a little and it flows almost as good as testpipe ( i would change the downpipe also. )

A high flow cat will not make the CEL light, what I've seen is that over time some high flow cats appear to lose their ability to do their thing and a CEL will come on to let you know the O2 sensor is sensing something not working right.....

I've got the Ultimate Racing full 3" turboback exhaust (3" DP, 3"TP, and 3"CB). Best darn thing I've bought for my car yet. I was very impressed with the quality and fitment of the downpipe. clears both tie bars with lots of room to spare. doo yourself a favor and get the thermal wrap option. i made the mistake of trying to wrap it myself and made it very ugly. plus the stuff itches like a bastard!
