Question Evo IX 4g64 destroked 2.2l Pressurizing Cooling System

Ok my car is in the shop now. During tune it was pressurizing the cooling system when it came on boost. Coolant was pissing out of the reservoir. I know the Mivec Head with 4g64 issues. I have the ARP 625+ head studs ready the block isn't o-ringed. Need a strong after market head gasket which one should I go for?

I found this: http://www.awdmotorsports.com/produc...sket-evo-9.htm

Anyone can chime in I need something that can last 35psi 700-800hp

Well I purchased it built already just fixing these last issues up. I don't understand how long after must you re torque the head after re installing new head gasket. The head is being serviced now.

Its just me but i would try new head studs.

Expcially if the head has been on and off a couple of times.

I Think when they run there 1st heat cycle then you re tq them incase they stretch and loosen up a little bit. Have read about it in many theads.

Extremepsi.com has the cometic gasket for like 90 bux. Do that with good headstuds. Warm the car up to full operating temp, and retorque the studs. Should be good to go after that.

Yes it had L19s in it. I got the custom age 625+ ready to go. I got the PE gasket. The heads getting serviced and skimmed the block is going to get cleaned and polished to get a good seal.

I'm thinking English ended up having issues from the PE gasket. Search for posts by johnbradley to confirm.

Everyone tells you something different but I guess English prep the engine right so they must know whats happening. Map used a PE but they o-ringed their shop car which is putting out 1100hp different situation. I also have the high performance Cosworth 87mm 1.5mm thick gasket laying around so I could use that too.

I'm over bored .20" so its gone from 86.5mm to 87mm. Would the 87mm gasket be slightly wider by default or would I need to find a 87.5mm gasket or bore it out?

If you bought the engine from someone else are you sure the head and block are flat? Also if the head wasn't machined with a low enough roughness average it will basically tear up the head gasket due to aluminum expanding and contracting at a different rate than the steel block. When you pull the head to do the gasket take it to a machine shop and have them cut it at the lowest RA possible. Make sure they know its being used with a MLS gasket.

The block and head are done by

http://orgerengines.com.au/

They do only race engines.

Let Orger provide you with the highest quality finishes that your engine components deserve. We have a Rottler S7M and Chevalier CNC Machining Centre that are used to surface machine cylinder heads and blocks. Combined with the latest technology such as CBN and diamond tooling, we are able to produce superior fine surface finishes that modern MLS head gaskets require.

I have all the receipts for the build I spoke to the people that built the car the guy who built it sold it not long after. He lost his licence the shops told me this.

The place doing it now are servicing and skimming the head my tuner sends all his built cars blocks there but I will confirm this for peace of mind thanks for the insight.
