New shortblock/ what mileage do you...
I've seen excellent results when breaking in the car with basically no regard to reducing RPM and power. Basically, if it's going to break, it's going to break, at 2 miles or 2000 miles. The one thing to avoid on a new motor is sustained heat, IMO. Long freeway drives and 5th gear pulls or back to back pulls in 3rd/4th without some cool down.
I'm sure you are fine either way. 6 psi variance on a new motor isn't great, but it's nothing to be real concerned about provided they don't continue to drift apart over time.

Well I'm trying to get it broke in quick and get it all good cause I'm military and heading overseas and car will be in storage for a year then shipped to me in England. I have to drive it 750 miles to California in a month soni need it to be good and tuned before I head out.
I was hoping that the compression would great since all the money I put into it.
It's 9.0:1 with a .020over bore.
I'm just not happy at the moment after that test.
I see your in utah, is it true higher altitude will have lower compression?

called map,
they sad compression is normal. it will get better over the next few miles. they said to go ahed and start tuning now and that the oil consumption is ok.
