Evo Rocker Arms - What's the deal?

Since I broke a Rocker Arm in 2 pieces... I've been looking at replacing all of my rocker arms.

Seems there is some kind of a difference between 1st gen DSM's and Evo's rocker arms. Then I read about 1st genners upgrading to the Evo units. Can someone tell me what the best option is?

Supposedly the Evo rocker arms are stamped steel and weaker compared to the 1G. I haven't had any problems with mine though. What RPM are you revving to?

are you sure you didn't just float a valve and the resulting PTV impact broke the rocker?

Tough to believe I floated a valve with Kiggly springs at 8500 rpms. But... The damage looks like the valve was open when the cam wasn't... That would suggest itself to your theory.

I just broke the roller on one of mine and killed the cam. I searched around and ending up buying 1 new OEM rocker. Hope it doesn't happen again.

Interesting. I got a friend spinning to 8500 on a 2.2 with no issues on kelford 272s.
I spun on my old 2.0 to 9k with JUN 272s no issue either. I run buschur duals and my friend beehive iirc.
I'm going to bigger cams. Hope this isnt an issue.

Whats your installed spring pressure Eric?
Did you test it?

I bought the GSC 5041 kit (old one) and still needed to shim the intake 0.040" and the exhaust 0.060" to get 100lbs on the seat.

Aaron at ER thinks it was a fluke and I will be fine with r2's and stock rockers. I got a set otw so I guess ima find out how they do! Its only 1mm more lift so how bad could it ? In all honesty I was beating the crap outta my car when the roller broke. So that's what I get I guess. Lol
