Downpipe/O2 opinions- Titek vs Tomei

Hi all,

I've done quite a bit of searching and reading, but haven't found a thread that really put one against the other. I'm looking to get both the O2 housing and down pipe, and wanted to know opinions on quality, fitment etc.

The Titek O2 V2 seems like a nice piece, and it has a stock/stock-like donut gasket for the down pipe, but no oem bracket attachment.

The Tomei O2 looks very similar to the Titek, but only works with the Tomei downpipe as it has a two bolt flange. However it does have the attachment for the OEM bracket, and the Downpipe has a flex joint to relieve stress on the 2 bolt flange.

Cost is approximately the same, not sure if anyone knows any difference regarding power gains. Either way, I'll probably go the route of the Tomei Ti exhaust and a mil.spec high flow cat.

I know O2 housing's can be found cheaper on ebay, as well as downpipes, but I don't want to go that way.

Thanks

Go with a titek if your set on those 2 brands

Remember it's just a pipe

Go with Titek if you are planning on making big power. Tomei downpipe is designed for stock car/turbo, it has only 2.6" diameter while Titek is full 3".

Both O2 housing aren't much different.

I have the Titek 02 housing with a Perrin downpipe on my Evo IX. The combination of the two works great cause they're both 3 inch pipes and the fitment is spot on. I don't have any complaints good luck.

I haven't ever used either, but who cares about brackets? The housing bolts to the turbo in 5 different places, it's not like the housing is going to fall off.

It is not an issue with bolting to the turbo it is to help reduce stress like the OEM part where it bolts to the block itself.

Another option to consider would be the Works o2 housing. It has the bracket to bolt to the block and it is considered one of the largest recirculating housings. The only problem is the price is very steep.

The CBRD 02 housing / downpipe combo is a great piece the only downside is the $895 price tag

i love cbrd, but map also has an integrated o2/dp with a v-band disconnect between the o2 and dp for $630. to my knowledge, they were the first to offer an integrated combo. i was a bit worried about fitment, but it fits better than the helix dp that i ran for several years.
