I pulled the valve cover off my recently acquired Evo out of curiosity as to why my car idles at ~16inhg, stock cams should more in the ~20inhg range. The cams have purple paint but the casting marks suggest a stock core. I have not removed the gear to see if there is a part number. Google suggests crower, but purple paint wasn't mentioned in the few threads I found. More curious whether or not someone knows from experience.

 

In the last pic if you turn the Cam and look on the lip next to the gear there will be a code most likely ppa or ppb or ppc for GSC S1 S2 or S3.

 

Sorry evom didn't send me an email of reply. There are no marks suggesting GSC is the manufacturer. Maybe in the early days they used stock cores. Purple paint a give away?
