Aeromotive 340 E85 failure..
Aeromotive 340 E85 failure..
So this morning my second aeromotive 340 decided to die on me.
I'm running on e85 BBK full 435/385 on a mustang dyno.
I also have fic 1250 injectors.
I was running out of fuel so it was rewired using STMs kit.
On pump one I had 3k on 91 and 5k on e85 and then about 2k on the rewire before my pump died.
I figured that the pump was defective. So I bought another one.
1k later it's dead.
So I called aeromotive and they said they only approve that pump if you replace the sock every 10 hours which is joke.
Apparently rewiring the pump just sped up the process.
Just wanted to help anyone else that was in my situation.
I'm installing the walbro 416 (e85) version tonight so that should work better I hope.

every 10 hours? they really said that? 10 hours is totally impractical and it would have no bearing on pump lifetime in an uncontaminated fuel system. it's their catch-all excuse to get out of a warranty.
