Boost

Hey guys. I have a 05 evo 8. FP green turbo. Recently I found out that when I let the gas off while on high way(still in the 5th gear) my boost gauge goes to -20. It was always -21 when I do the same thing. It supposed to -21.It was weird. Since I am the newer to the evo. I wondered why it didn't go all the way down? Thx!

Do you have a boost/vacuum gauge? Are you refering to readings below atmospheric pressure, otherwise known as vacuum readings?

Ya I think so. It is weird. I think some vacuum line is leaking. But I did a smoke test the other day and a boost leak test. They were all good. But these day I do smell something like plastic is burning around the intake manifold, and I think if somewhere was leaking, that would the first place to call. I am goin to take it to my bud's shop to do leak test again this Wednesday.

You are worried that its at -20 instead of -21? Personally I think you are overreacting over nothing.

Do you have a mechanical gauge? 1" of vacuum is well within the margin of error for that equipment and/or user
